Iwaz is an electronic music producer and a visual artist based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As one of the co-founders of Seni.Tibatiba, he leads a community of passionate creatives on jamming sessions that focuses on technology in music and visual arts.
He takes on multi-disciplinary collaborations, and has worked with musicians, songwriters, film producers and new media artists from Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Australia, and the USA. His works have been showcased at various notable venues, including The KLPac, Urbanscapes Festival, Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival, AOR Festival, JB Arts Festival, and many more.
In 2019, he received a grant from Perak State Government for the development of a short animated film entitled ‘Selama’, which received a Highest Commendation Laurel from Asia South East-Short Film Festival WINTER 2021.
‘Detik 2.0’ is inspired by the interconnectedness of life where elements co-exist, combine or merge, or attract and repel each other .These forces and elements work in mysterious sequences or randomness that culminates in a balance – UNITY.
To capture this uniqueness and represent it in sounds, generative frequency modulation synthesis is used. This is a process where one waveform oscillates another waveform, creating a symphony of sounds.
